About Vietnam Photo Expeditions
The aim of our photo tours is to give each customer a unique experience of place and people in some of the most spectacular locations in Vietnam. They are not always tailored to take you to the most popular tourist locations in Vietnam, as beautiful as these are. Many of the locations we travel to are in remote regions and infrequently visited by tourists. Each expedition gives you access to areas of staggering beauty, which would prove a considerable navigational challenge to most visitors to Vietnam. The knowledge and insight accumulated over years of travelling in each region we visit enables us lead you down the roads and tracks, with the best views at the right times, catching the best light. Photo Expeditions was conceived by photographers for photographers. The company's purpose and our goal is to enable you to experience and enjoy this fantastic country, Vietnam, whilst giving you opportunities to travel off the beaten track and capture its essence through your camera.
Our permanent presence in Asia and close association with one of the main photographic associations in Hanoi, gives us a current perspective and an insight into emerging tourism trends, new locations to take you and specific places that are proving photographically interesting. We gather information from a number of Vietnamese professional photographers who has spent years scouting back roads and mountain tracks to find exciting new places to photograph. As we mentioned on our homepage, the trips and expeditions are about the experience of travel and discovery, exploring the diverse landscapes and culture of Vietnam and meeting the local people and giving you an insight into their daily lives; our aim is that the photographs you take will reflect your personal connection with and a greater understanding of this most interesting country.
As well as giving you what we feel are the most interesting routes and locations during our expeditions, we also scout all the accommodation we use on our trips. These vary in quality depending on the location we are visiting, but even in the more remote locations we visit where the accommodation may be basic, the hotels are clean and each room will have a private bathroom, shower and hot water. (any differences from this will be clearly stated in the expedition itinerary eg home-stays)
Each expedition is carefully planned to ensure your experience is exhilarating whilst maintaining what we feel is an even pace. This ensures while each day is full of new experiences, you are not overwhelmed by to much exertion or tiredness. When we do get up early to capture the sun rise then you will be able to catch up with rest later in the day while we travel or in our hotel.
We plan each trip to cover a diverse range of travel and experiencewithin the scope of the expedition. The pace, comfort and type of transport within each expedition differs, so please review the overview and itinerary carefully before booking.
We also feel at Vietnam Photo Expeditions it is important to give something back to some of the people and communities we visit on our tours, so have committed 3% of the profits from each of our tours to the Christina Noble Children’s Foundation, an international partnership of people dedicated to serving children in need of emergency and long-term medical care, nutritional rehabilitation, educational opportunities, vocational training and job placement, as well as children at risk of sexual and economic exploitation. Christina Noble arrived in Vietnam in 1989, and later in 1991 established The Christina Noble Children’s Foundation in Ho Chi Minh City. Over 100 projects have been established during the past 26 years providing vital health services, education opportunities, and community support programmes to thousands of vulnerable children and their families annually.
